Independent Consultants Network Survey 2009

Independent Consultants Network Survey 2009.

The Independent Consultants’ Network caters for planners who are sole practitioners or who work in small practices (with other planners or related professionals).

It provides targeted information and resources, disseminates knowledge and good practice, and provides a national voice and focus for independent planning consultants. It aims to reflect the interests and concerns of its members by providing a forum where members can discuss relevant issues, topics and share good practice.

The Network is part of a range of services offered by the RTPI designed to support planning consultants and consultancies.

During August 2009 the RTPI carried out a survey of network members to help improve the service provided by the Independent Consultants' Network, and help the RTPI better represent the interests of members.

The questionnaire was structured under five headings; about you; about your practice; professional indemnity insurance; your income; independent consultants network. Many of the questions offered the opportunity to make additional comment. The comments received from respondents are included where appropriate.

One question advised members that the RTPI is developing a range of management guidance, and invited members to identify areas where they would value further guidance. This management guidance, known as Director Briefings, is free to RTPI members and can be accessed through the consultancy support and information webpages.

We are grateful to all those members who took the time to respond to the survey.

For further information on the network please contact catherine.middleton@rtpi.org.uk. For further information on the support and guidance offered to RTPI members please contact chris.sheridan@rtpi.org.uk.

The survey results are available below.
