UK Rural Researchers Wanted
16-Apr-09
| The ESPON project on Potential of Rural Regions (PURR) will be tendered in the Summer 2009. This project was put together by 3 UK “stakeholders” – North Yorkshire County Council, Dumfries and Galloway Council and the Rural Affairs Department of the Welsh Assembly Government. It also includes 2 other rural authorities – Notodden from Norway and Cesis from Latvia. The planned research project would look at the assets and development potential of these five areas (for Wales the focus is on the Cambrian Mountains). Officials from the five stakeholders will help the researchers access local data. | Photo by Charles Strang |
The ESPON UK Contact Point has prepared a guidance note for UK researchers which explains a bit more about the project and provides contact details for possible Latvian and Norwegian partners who would be interested in forming a Transnational Project Group in partnership with a UK research institute to bid for this contract. The specification for the project can be downloaded here. For further information please contact Cliff Hague at cliff.hague@espon.org.uk or on 0131 447 5265.
