If you wish to contribute to the formulation of RTPI responses to these consultations please e-mail the relevant contact. Please note that an RTPI closing date is given to allow the RTPI sufficient time to co-ordinate a consultation response.

Devolving local major transport schemes - A consultation
This consultation seeks views on a new system for prioritising and funding local major schemes beyond 2014-15.

Consultation on proposed changes to the department's statistics - Land use change statistics, rationalised collection of local authority housing statistics and publication of regional statistics

Planning for Sustainability - The presumption in favour of sustainable development
The Welsh Government wants views on their proposed changes to national planning policy to strengthen and clarify the presumption in favour of sustainable development.

The planning system is fundamental for delivering sustainable development. Since devolution, they have introduced legislation, national planning policy and guidance and worked with stakeholders to deliver sustainable development. They want views on changes to national planning policy in Planning Policy Wales to strengthen and clarify the presumption in favour of sustainable development.

Implementing the Environmental Noise Directive in Wales
The Welsh Government published environmental noise action plans in January 2009 under the Environmental Noise Directive. They then developed procedures for implementing parts of the Directive, including a procedure for the creation of quiet areas in agglomerations (large urban areas). They consulted on this in February 2011 and published the procedure in May 2011.

 Proposed quiet areas
Quiet areas must be tranquil areas of value to the local community. The proposed quiet areas can be seen in the annexes A, B, C and D available on the WG website.

Once an area is confirmed as an official quiet area, it is protected from increases in noise by the Environmental Noise Directive and planning policy.

City Regions Definition and Criteria
The City Regions Task and Finish group was set up by the Minister for Business, Enterprise, Technology and Science. A call for evidence is now underway and the Welsh Government would like to hear views about the findings on the definition and criteria of City regions of the City regions task and finish group outlined in the document.
