Revision of Planning Policy Wales Chapter 7 Supporting the Economy
Revision of planning policy for economic development to make sure that it can deliver aspirations for economic recovery in Wales.

This work has been informed by a research report, Planning for Sustainable Economic Renewal, written by Roger Tym and Partners in association with Asbri Planning.

Views are wanted on the structure of a new Technical Advice Note (TAN) to be published next year. A more detailed separate consultation will be undertaken on the TAN later in 2012. 

Meeting the Housing Challenge: Building a consensus for action
Views on housing issues are invited to help prepare a new Housing Bill.

Consultation on relaxing the restrictions on the deployment of overhead telecommunications lines
The Government is consulting on proposals to allow the deployment of new overhead telecoms lines, which could reduce the cost of deployment by up to 50% and help deliver superfast broadband into areas that would otherwise not be served by the market. This consultation sets out how the Government intends to implement this, and what protections will remain in place for communities and rural areas.

Department of Health: Views wanted on guidance on joint strategic needs assessments and health and wellbeing strategies

This consultation seeks views on potential areas for growth in the aquaculture industry in England, identifying areas where the industry can work together to improve marketing, knowledge, skills and research. It considers barriers to growth. 

Draft London Housing Supplementary Planning Guidance
This draft document sets out proposed guidance to supplement the housing policies in the recently published 2011 London Plan. In particular, it provides detail on how to carry forward the Mayor of London’s view that “providing good homes for Londoners is not just about numbers. The quality and design of homes, and the facilities provided for those living in them, are vital to ensuring good liveable neighbourhoods”. It is informed by the Government’s draft National Planning Policy Framework. 

Once adopted, the new Housing SPG will replace the 2005 SPG and the 2010 Interim Housing SPG. This draft supersedes the draft Housing EiP SPG which was published to primarily inform discussion at the Examination in Public into the 2009 Draft Replacement London Plan (DRLP).

The Homes and Communities Agency's equality objectives for 2012-2015 - A joint consultation with the Tenant Services Authority
This joint consultation with the Tenant Services Authority seeks views on their future equality objectives.

Future Homes Commission
Call for evidence. The Future Homes Commission is conducting an inquiry into the quality of newly built housing with the aim of understanding how people live today, what they need and expect from their homes and whether the design and delivery of new homes is fit for purpose.

Liberalising the regime for flying flags: discussion paper
The Government wants to streamline the planning regulations that apply to flag-flying to cut bureaucracy and reduce or eliminate the cost of applying for consent. This discussion paper sets out proposals for possible change to secondary legislation in order to achieve this.
