THE "DURHAM PROJECT" EXHIBITION, COUNTY HALL, DURHAM

 

Planning Aid North mounted a successful exhibition in County Hall, Durham during half term 16th - 20th February 2009, writes Ray Anglesea, PANs County Durham Project Officer. The exhibition showcased some of the primary and secondary school work undertaken by PAN since September last year and displayed samples of work taken from the following projects:-


Derwentside District Council: Town Centre Audit for Consett Durham County Council: Renewable energy and sustainable development

Durham County Council: Minerals under Your Feet Durham City Council: Sustainable Housing Development in the Durham Villages

Sedgefield Borough: Future proposals for Merrington Lane Industrial Estate, Spennymoor Wear Valley District Council: Appraisals of some of the District Conservation Areas

Some 31 schools in the County have now taken part in the above projects and over 4,300 children and their teachers have been introduced to the work and good news of planning!

 

Future projects are currently being prepared for delivery in schools in Easington District March/April 2009.

 

A smaller exhibition covering school work in the appraisals of the Durham Dales Conservation Area Town/Villages (St John's Chapel, Stanhope and Wolsingham) will be held in The Hub Community Centre, Stanhope from 24 February 2009.
