Planning Law update A legal update from RTPI West Midlands focussing on the Localism Act and Community Infrastructure Levy, including appeal decisions and emerging case law.To be held on 2 February in Birmingham.
Planning for non-planners A half day seminar from RTPI West Midlands for non planners outlining the legislation and structure, policies and procedures of the planning system.To be held on 10 February in Birmingham.
Planning Law update In addition to keeping delegates updated about important developments, decisions and cases, this RTPI North West event will consider how the planning system is faring under the regime shaped by localism and the National Planning Policy Framework. To be held on 5 March in Warrington.
Development Management An update on planning law, advertisement control enforcement and thoughts on issues facing those at the front line of Development Management (Development Control) with workshop sessions in the afternoon to consider the issues in more depth. Always a popular RTPI South West conference which needs to be booked early. To be held on 21 March in Taunton.
Planning law - new directions A one day RTPI North East conference provided in conjunction with Dickinson Dees and Kings Chambers looking at the emerging guidance and legislation associated with the localism agenda. To be held on 26 March in Newcastle upon Tyne.
An introduction to the planning system This RTPI Conferences workshop is intended to provide elected members, administrators and support staff with an understanding of the planning system to enable them to appreciate the wider context within which they are working.To be held on 30 May in London.
Ongoing training and learning
Foundation Degree (FdA) in Planning Practice and Development Management Run by UWE, the degree is a practical knowledge and skills based qualification, suitable as initial training for people new to planning, or for those with experience who want to improve their skills and to understand how planning is changing.
