Development Management CPD Events for Planners in Wales

The Development Management Network has teamed up with RTPI Cymru and the Planning Officers Society for Wales (POSW) to provide regular CPD events for Welsh development management planners.

The RTPI and POSW recognises that more recent legislative changes have resulted in an expanded role for development management planners with increasing challenges and complexities. Now charged with ‘managing’ instead of merely ‘controlling’ development, planners working on the front line in development control departments of planning authorities have to come to terms with a new approach to development. New legislation and guidance has to be absorbed by all and the activity of negotiating planning consents must be seen as a crucial part of the spatial planning agenda.

The events will cover a wide variety of topic areas and provide an opportunity for development management planners to get together and exchange information, expertise and knowledge.

Digwyddiadau datblygiad proffesiynol parhaus (CPD) rheoli datblygu ar gyfer cynllunwyr yng Nghymru

Mae’r Rhwydwaith Rheoli Datblygu wedi ymuno â RTPI Cymru a Chymdeithas Swyddogion Cynllunio Cymru (POSW) i gynnal digwyddiadau CPD rheolaidd ar gyfer cynllunwyr rheoli datblygu yng Nghymru.

Mae RTPI a POSW yn sylweddoli bod newidiadau deddfwriaethol diweddar wedi golygu bod rôl cynllunwyr rheoli datblygu yn ehangu, gan arwain at fwy o heriau a chymlethdodau. Mae gan reolwyr bellach fwy o gyfrifoldeb dros ddatblygu, ac mae’r rheini sy’n gweithio ar y llinell flaen yn adrannau rheoli datblygu awdurdodau lleol yn gorfod mynd i’r afael â dull newydd o ddatblygu. Rhaid iddynt ddod i ddeall y canllawiau a’r ddeddfwriaeth newydd, a rhaid iddynt ddeall bod y gwaith o negodi caniatâd cynllunio yn rhan hanfodol o’r agenda cynllunio gofodol.

Bydd y digwyddiadau yn mynd i’r afael ag ystod eang o feysydd pwnc ac yn rhoi cyfle i gynllunwyr rheoli datblygu ddyfod ynghyd a rhannu gwybodaeth ac arbenigedd.
