The Young Planners' Network is intended to be more a ‘club’ than a mailing list. It is active, and very much reliant on the voluntary input of members.

Aims and objectives

The Network's purpose is to:

  • Provide a user-friendly interface between young planners and the RTPI
  • Provide a forum for informal networking
  • Recognise the needs of young planners and direct them to appropriate information

The Network's key objectives are:

  • Delivering events and information services that are specific for young planners. across the UK, including support with the APC process
  • Raising awareness amongst young planners of the services the RTPI offers and how to get involved in the Institute
  • Representing and raising the profile of young planners externally and within the RTPI and assessing the influence that young planners are able to exert
  • Providing support for young planners during the economic downturn
