About the network

13-Dec-06

The ICN is intended to be more a ‘club’ than a mailing list. It is active, and very much reliant on the voluntary input of members.

We have a steering group and a network manager, who work to an annual action plan. Members can read the action plan for 2007 in the members' area of the website, along with steering group minutes and monitoring reports.

Aims and objectives

The aims and objectives of the ICN are:

Promotion

  • to promote the role of independent planning consultants both within the RTPI and externally

Information sharing

  • to help members share ideas and keep up-to-date through a programme of meetings/events, a weekly bulletin, pages on the RTPI website and signposting to relevant information for example Good Practice Notes, research reports and other resources

Conference

  • to organise an annual independent consultants’ network conference

Network membership

  • to widen the ICN’s membership by attracting new members, particularly from a) regions currently under-represented b) small practices

For more information about the ICN, please contact Catherine Middleton, Network Manager, by email.
