"The free events are helpful - spread around the UK not just London - especially for promoting state of the art and current issues." (Network survey, 2009)
The Regeneration Network organises two types of events. Network discussions are small, short, roundtable meetings, with one or two speakers, and are designed to allow plenty of time for questions and debate. Study visits involve going to see a site, place or building as well as hearing a presentation and participating in a discussion. Both types are held at locations around the UK, at various times of the day and are usually free to attend.

I'd like to host a visit or debate...
If you have an idea for a topic to discuss or a place to visit, or would like to host, please contact the network manager.
How do I book my place?
Use the link in the title, which will take you to that entry on the website calendar. There’s a booking form at the bottom of that page. You’ll receive a confirmation of your place, and then a week or so before the event you’ll receive your joining instructions and any final information.
These Network events are free. So does it matter if I don’t turn up?
Well, yes it does. It’s discourteous to the hosts, who will be waiting for you and will have paid to provide food and refreshments for you. It’s unfair to other delegates, who may be kept waiting for things to start, as the organisers wait for people who have booked to turn up. And it’s really annoying to those on the waiting list for a place and would love to come if you can’t make it!
If you book a place and find you cannot attend, why not pass it on to a colleague? Alternatively, let the Network Manager know as soon as possible so that it can be allocated to someone else. We know that things happen and if you’re ill on the day we understand that you won’t be able to make it – but a call to the Network Manager on 020 7515 1913 would be helpful, so that the host can be informed. We do keep records of members who repeatedly book to attend events but don’t show up, and will not allow them to book on future events. Just think – it could be you hosting the next event!
What type of topics are covered?
Please see the lists above for 2009 and 2010 topics.
I'm interested in the topic but can't make the date. How can I catch up?
A briefing note is produced afterwards, which network members can access in the members' area of the Network's website, along with presentations and any additional follow-up materials.
CPD
Depending on your personal development plan, these may provide continuing professional development (CPD). More information about CPD and how the RTPI measures it.
