Room for All events are tailored to our members’ interests, and we often develop events in response to suggestions and offers from members. Our events range from simple lunchtime meetings for sharing practice information, to one-day events covering topics of special interest. Obviously every event can contribute directly to everyone's Continuing Professional Development.
Suggestions are more than welcome to housing@rtpi.org.uk
NETWORK VISIT TO THE REDEVELOPED CATERHAM BARRACKS

As an event within National Housing Week 2008, the visit to Caterham illustrated how a Section 106 Agreement between the Developer and the Local Authority, fully informed by consultation with the local community, has helped to ensure careful integration of old and new and an impressive mix of uses that should help the sustainability of the expanded community.
the Community Trust website with the history of the site and the development can be seen here.

EVENTS FOR HOUSING WEEK 2007
The Network offered two special events as part of Housing Week 2007 which adopted the theme of sustainability:

Click on the heading above for a report of the visit and for links to other sites that help with extra detail. As the flyer for this event (here) explained, New Ash Green was conceived as a potential "model of how to get civilised modern community living in an area of beautiful landscape" (Richard Crossman, 1964).New Ash Green was also a showcase for SPAN Developments. The close working relationship of Eric Lyons as architect and SPAN as sympathetic client proved to be an ideal arrangement for both parties.
