NEW NETWORK EVENT: PPS4 PLANNING FOR PROSPEROUS ECONOMIES
Cristina Howick (from Roger Tym & Partners) who was so well received at the PIPA Conference will outline, explain and take questions on the new PPS4: Planning for Prosperous Economies. PIPA events are tailored to our members’ interests, and we often develop events in response to suggestions and offers from members. Our events range from simple lunchtime meetings for sharing practice information, to one-day events covering topics of special interest.

THIRD PIPA CONFERENCE 2009
The Conference held at the London Savoy Place Conference Centre in October 2009 included contributions from the the Infrastructure Planning Commission, The Local Government Association & the Homes & Communities Agency. The 100 delegates engaged in a wide range of break-out sessions, some exploring European good practice to compare with the English situation. PIPA WORKSHOP AT THE PLANNING CONVENTION 2009
For 2009 we arranged a discussion under the title 'Does recession mean sell-out? - maintaining quality in a cold climate. The discussion was started by Cllr Clare Denman (Crawley BC) ans Cllr Alastair Moss (LB Westminster); the session has been summarised and your further contributions are invited via this link.
SECOND PIPA CONFERENCE 2008
The Conference held at Manchester Business School in October 2008 included a contribution from the Secretary of State Hazel Blears. Right at the outset of her speech the Minister said “how glad I am that PIPA exists”. And the 100 delegates then engaged positively with a wide range of speakers and break-out sessions. FIRST PIPA CONFERENCE IN SCOTLAND

Thanks to funding support from the Scottish Government, a very successful first Conference for Scottish Elected Members involved with planning was held on 21st June 2008 in Glasgow - see the programme for the event here. We are aiming now to organise similar events in Wales and Northern Ireland - with the UK event in Manchester to be held on 11th October 2008.
NETWORKS CONFERENCE: Empowerment and Influence – planning and learning through the RTPI Networks

FIRST PIPA NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Thanks to sponsorship from IDeA and the Planning Advisory Service PIPA held its first national Conference in Birmingham on Saturday 23rd June 2007.

The event was a great success and the Presentations made at the Conference are now available to PIPA members in the Members Area of the PIPA webpages. PIPA membership is free to all those engaged in democratic planning at all levels of government, from neighbourhood to Parliament.
