Events, Awards and Networking

We offer a variety of events and conferences at a national, regional and local level. RTPI events cover a broad range of policy and practice topics, as well as personal and professional development issues.

Through our award programmes, we encourage and reward outstanding achievement in planning. We aim to celebrate the contribution made by the planning profession to the quality of life throughout the UK, and to raise awareness and understanding of pioneering work.

Our Networks and Associations generate, demonstrate and disseminate knowledge and good practice, and provide a voice for everyone with an interest in the planning profession. We also deliver a wide range of services to members on a regional and national basis through our network of Regions and Nations.

Planning Convention Signpost

"Planning: Shaping the Future" - Convention Report

This year's Planning Convention "Planning: Shaping the Future", held in London from 28-30 June, was attended by over 500 people from across the UK and abroad. 

The new Minister for Decentralisation, Greg Clark MP, gave his first major public speech at the Convention. After his keynote address, he took questions from delegates alongside Local Government and Planning Minister Bob Neill MP.
