On 10 January 2017 the Scottish Government published 20 proposals for reforming the planning system, for consultation until 4 April. Places, people and planning is a direct response to the May 2016 report of the Independent Review of the Scottish Planning System. Some of the changes will require primary legislation, which we expect to see included in next year’s Programme for Government. Many of the proposals will however be implemented through policy and guidance.
The consultation proposes major changes to the way that strategic planning is done in Scotland. Strategic Development Plans would no longer be prepared, with strategic planning instead being focused on a new form of Regional Partnership Working.
This workshop is a chance to explore these proposals, and the outputs will be taken into account in the RTPI Scotland response to the Scottish Government consultation on the future of the planning system, Places, people and planning.
This event is anticipated to be busy, so booking is essential. Please book using Eventbrite. We look forward to seeing you there.
