The Talbot Hotel, Yorkersgate, Malton YO17 7AJ
Following on from the 2015 programme where local authorities showcased their planning achievements in selected towns and cities, in this year's RTPI Yorkshire low cost seminar programme we will be working with planning consultancies and local authorities in some of the smaller towns within Yorkshire. We will assess what has happened to the place over the last 50 years, what has worked there, whilst also looking forward to the future.
Malton, one of Yorkshire most attractive market towns, is undergoing a revival as Yorkshire's food capital. It is establishing a fast growing reputation for artisan food making and restaurants. The Fitzwilliam Estate and Ryedale District Council are at the centre of this revival, which includes the recently renovated listed Town Hall and Talbot Yard; showpiece projects which are attracting many admirers. These are augmented by the newly established Enterprise Zone, the annual Food Festival, which attracts visitors from all over the Region, and the twice monthly farmers' market.
There are a limited number of free places available for full time students and Planning Aid volunteers. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to book.
This seminar is kindly supported by Ryedale District Council.
