The theme for this year's World Town Planning Day is:

‘Cities and Climate Change: Local Responses to a Global Challenge’

The main website for World Town Planning Day is http://www.planningtheworld.net/

The email address of the WTPD organising committee is: planningtheworld@gmail.com

What is the RTPI doing this year?

The RTPI is not on the organising committee this year and is therefore not involved in the programme or any other decision-making related to the online conference.

However, the RTPI is encouraging all interested members, universities and organisations who would like to be involved, to help demonstrate and promote how planning and planners are helping cities and communities to adapt to climate change and implement the outcomes from Habitat III.

What can you do?

Of course, you can join in the online conference from your own computer via http://www.planningtheworld.net/

You are welcome to share best practice, challenges, new research, information etc on the theme in a format that would suit you best, for example: a formal conference with key note speakers; an after work CPD session; a roundtable event; a lecture; a student project.

Perhaps you would like to write a blog for the RTPI website - see /briefing-room/rtpi-blog/

Or just help the RTPI by promoting planning and planners throughout the day by linking up with us via Twitter @internatRTPI  and using the #WTPD2016 hashtag

How will we promote your activities?
