Strategic Issues in Housing Delivery

A West of Scotland Chapter Event

Wednesday, 30 March 2016 at 6:00PM - 8:00PM
Banker Suite, Mercure Hotel, 201 Ingram Street, Glasgow, G1 1DQ
Fully Booked
RTPI Scotland

This event will address key strategic planning issues facing the delivery of housing across the West of Scotland. Given historically low rates of housing completions this event pulls together public, private and affordable sector speakers to discuss key challenges and mechanisms for improving delivery. Confirmed speakers are:

  • Stuart Tait, Clydeplan SDPA Manager – a city regional perspective on setting a strategic framework for housing needs and delivery
  • Robert McKinnon, Land Director, Robertson Homes – a housing market perspective on economic issues and planning for housing delivery (presented in collaboration with Homes for Scotland)
  • David Bookbinder, Director, Glasgow and West of Scotland Forum of Housing Associations – a community controlled housing associations perspective, exploring innovative ways in which housing associations are contributing to housing delivery
  • Chris McNey, Clydeplan SDPA (secondment) – a perspective on the evidence base and housing data analysis

Refreshments will be provided, and afterwards all attendees are invited to join the Chapter committee for networking drinks in the Corinthian, adjacent to the Mercure Hotel.

This event is free to all RTPI members, including student members. Non-RTPI members are very welcome to attend, subject to a £5 entry fee. Demand for places is anticipated to be high so booking is essential.
