Flooding in the North East

A Grampian Chapter Event

Thursday, 24 March 2016 at 5:30PM - 8:00PM
Council Chamber, Viewmount, Stonehaven, AB39 2DQ
RTPI Scotland

The current winter has seen the most extreme flooding the Grampian region has witnessed in recent memory.  Storm Frank hit the North East in December, and was closely followed by Storm Gertrude at the end of January.  Many homes across the region were evacuated, and the clean up operation in some areas is still underway.

We are pleased to invite Will Burnish, Team Leader (Flooding and Coastal) from Aberdeen City Council and Dr Deepak Kharat, Principal Engineer (Flooding and Coast Protection) from Aberdeenshire Council to speak to the Chapter about the work both Local Authorities are undertaking on flood prevention systems, and how the work of both Teams relates to the planning process.

Please contact Claire McArthur, chapter convenor, if you wish to attend this event.
