This event will focus on how planners can develop vital skills in consultation and community engagement. Speakers will explore good practice techniques and ask how we can avoid causing consultation fatigue. Thinking about the recent Planning Review, we will also consider our own experience of being consulted as a profession.

Davy Jones from The Consultation Institute will provide an overview of consultation skills and best practice, highlighting what he considers are the key do’s and don’ts of consultation.

David McAllister from PAS will provide a third sector perspective on consultation and engagement based on his experience of the Government’s SSCI Charrette Mainstreaming Programme.

Please arrive from 6pm for a 6:30pm start. This event will be followed by the SYPN summer social at Moskito Bar on Bath Street, with a drinks reception kindly sponsored by Bilfinger GVA.
