Crowne Plaza, Forth Banks, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 3SA
For this Young Planners event, we will be touring the Newcastle’s Crowne Plaza Hotel, focusing on aspects such as architecture, landscape, and regeneration. As one of the flagship buildings in the innovative new Stephenson Quarter development, the Crowne Plaza Hotel provides an excellent opportunity for young planners in the North East to learn about the multidisciplinary input required when delivering high quality regeneration projects.
The evening will take the form of a talk from David Clouston, giving a perspective on the broader objectives of the Stephenson Quarter. This will be followed by a presentation by Harvey Emms who will give a LPA view, drawing upon his time at Newcastle City Council and more recently the private sector perspective. This will be followed by Ros Southern who will be giving a presentation on the importance of landscape masterplanning in developments. The presentations will be followed by a tour of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, with by a great opportunity to network afterwards.
