Scottish Young Planners' Network has organised an event in association with the Commonwealth Association of Planners Young Planners to celebrate World Town Planning Day.

This event will celebrate planners working across the world, and will look at the skills necessary to work abroad.  We have two young planners speaking at this event who have each worked in different Commonwealth countries.  They will outline their experiences, and what they have learned from them to bring back to work in the UK.

We also have the RTPI International Officer with us at this event.  Marion has worked in Scotland, and South Africa before taking up her post in London for RTPI.  With RTPI Members in over 80 countries across the world, the Institute and the profession is becoming ever more international.  Marion will talk about working abroad but also about international planning issues that are relevant to us working in the UK, and what we can learn from international planning.

  • Jane Iannarelli - City of Edinburgh Council, with experience working in Australia
  • Donal Farrelly - Ironside Farrar, with experience working in Canada
  • Marion Frederiksen - RTPI International Officer

This event is FREE but places must be booked. Please email to book your place.
