Review of the Scottish Planning System
Discussion Event

A Review of the Scottish Planning System was announced by Alex Neil MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Communities and Pensioners’ Rights earlier this year, with further confirmation within the Scottish Government’s Programme for Government 2015-2016 which announced the intention to “review the planning system to increase delivery of high quality housing developments, by delivering a quicker more accessible and efficient process.”  The Government has since confirmed that the review will be undertaken by an Independent Panel which will “provide a strategic perspective and will be open to ‘gamechanging’ views and ideas”.

The Panel would now like to invite written evidence from all interested parties.  The closing date for written evidence is 1st December 2015 and further information on the questions being posed by the Panel is available here.

RTPI Scotland will be preparing a formal response for the Panel to consider, and West of Scotland Chapter Members are invited to attend this special levent to discuss the topics which have been highlighted by the Call for Evidence.  RTPI Scotland Director, Craig McLaren, will be joining us at the event to make a presentation and listen to views and opinions.
