The Localism Act introduced neighbourhood planning, which has resulted in thousands of people becoming involved in the planning of their area. This half day seminar will look at the impacts of neighbourhood planning on planning practice, including democratic perspectives and implications for the profession. It will discuss the statutory process for neighbourhood planning, including key decisions for local planning authorities, and tackle some common misconceptions. Also, it will look at some of the ‘made’ and emerging neighbourhood plans and the impacts that they are making. The seminar is suitable for planners from all sectors.
