Since the introduction of the NPPF, recent permitted development changes and the reform of the CAP there has been a renewed focus on rural development and sustainable intensification. But is it optimising the conservation and development of our rural assets or is it merely serving to accommodate urban growth?  This rural planning update will bring together experts with extensive knowledge and experience of rural development and land management issues and provide delegates with an up to date understanding of changes that are affecting the 'forgotten' rural areas of the West Midlands such as local plans and rural policies, permitted development rights, rural diversification, energy crops, farming, forestry and housing.
