With many local authorities now having adopted Community Infrastructure Levies, and with many more in the process of being developed, this session will bring together both the legal perspective and that of a local authority that has recently adopted and implemented its CIL.

This FREE event will consider the route to CIL adoption, emerging learning and take a look at the legal issues that practitioners must be aware of when dealing with CIL and its relationship with the wider legal planning framework.

Speakers:

  • Paul McLean is an Associate in the Planning department at Eversheds based in the Leeds office. He advises on all aspects of planning law including planning, infrastructure and highways agreements, applications for development consent and planning appeals.
  • Lora Hughes is a Principal Planner at Leeds City Council. Her role has included project management of the Leeds Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedule to adoption. She also provides planning policy advice for a wide range of schemes and was involved in the preparation of the Council's Core Strategy.
