Cuningar Loop is a £5.7 million Legacy 2014 project that will provide an exciting new woodland park in the east end of Glasgow. Located opposite the Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village, it will transform 15 hectares of derelict, unused land, the size of 15 large football pitches, into an attractive community greenspace. Due to open in Spring 2015 it will give local people and visitors opportunities to get involved, get active and be inspired by the outdoors with key features including:

  • Extensive path network
  • Adventure play facilities
  • A bike pump track
  • Scotland’s first bouldering park
  • Trim trail outdoor gym
  • Large meadow and picnic areas
  • Amphitheatre for outdoor learning
  • Boardwalk running parallel to River Clyde
  • A new bridge linking the wood to the Athletes’ Village

Meet at entrance to Tesco Carpark, Dalmarnock Road, from 5.45pm for a 6pm start.

Hard hats and hi-vis vests will be supplied, however please dress appropriately for a summer evening in Glasgow.

The tour will last approximately 45mins and will include a guided tour of the works being carried out to generate a new woodland park in the east end of Glasgow.

This event is free for RTPI members, but places must be booked. Email to book.
