The high intensity development in Chinese cities is by now well known, but what is less known in the West is the new interest in the 'social justice' aspect  - in urban regeneration as well as in Planning generally - topics that Professor Zhou Guoyan is introducing through the University and professional organisations. 

Professor Zhou Guoyan did her PhD at the University of Portsmouth and Post-Doctoral Research Affiliated by UCL in London, became a member of the RTPI and is now an outstanding figure in both the academic and the consultancy spheres of Planning in China, based in Shanghai and Hefei.
