Delivering affordable housing is no more controversial anywhere than in rural communities. However, the delivery of affordable housing is also no more needed anywhere than in rural communities. Rural communities are changing: they are getting older; they are losing their services; and they are losing their historic economic backbone. The young and the less well-off are being driven out their villages by rising house prices but the consequences are much further reaching. As the demographics of rural communities changes so does their politics.

Across professionals, there is a consensus about the key issues but less so about the potential solutions.

This event will bring planners together with housing and other professionals to discuss issues, practical solutions and good practice. It will include presentations, discussion panels and workshops and provide a great opportunity to network with others with an interest in all things rural.

This conference has been jointly organised with Cambridgeshire ACRE.
