Public participation has been the hallmark of planning policy for decades, but deep-rooted tensions continue between the aspirations of local communities and the requirements of strategic and market-led development. This conference explores these tensions through the experiences of communities and practitioners engaged in 'bottom-up' planning initiatives.
This event offers the perspective of a senior specialist planning lawyer, the team leader for neighbourhood planning at Leeds City Council, academics from Leeds and Oxford and two representatives from the community and Planning Aid to explore the issues currently surrounding community planning for planners.
NB The online form below is only a request form; it is not a booking form.
Booking for this event closes at 5pm on Thursday 3 December 2015.
This conference is organised by Leeds Beckett University on behalf of the 2015 RTPI Yorkshire Conference Series.
