Some say that the planning profession missed the boat when Community Planning was introduced a decade ago.  Let’s not repeat the same mistake again.

Community Planning Partnerships are expected to have more focus on ‘place’.  The planning profession is told to make Development Plans the ‘spatial expression of the Community Plan’.  These things sound simple, but the reality is that they are very hard to do.

Nikola Miller of RTPI Scotland will present the latest findings of the RTPI’s Scotland-wide research into integrating community planning and land use planning.

Karl Doroszenko, Development Planning and Regeneration Manager at East Ayrshire Council, will outline his experience of trying to integrate community and land use planning in East Ayrshire.

Join us to discuss how we can better support Community Planning – for the benefit of communities and the planning profession.
