The Thames Valley Young Planners’ Network (TVYPN) invite Planners with 10 years experience or less to attend a stimulating and informative discussion focusing on the potential changes in the planning system following the upcoming general election. The event will have a particular focus on housing supply in and around Oxfordshire.

The Conservative – Liberal Democrat coalition has made significant changes to the planning system since 2010. Although parties may not be looking to make equally radical changes this time, they will each be considering how to solve the national housing shortfall.

The panel will consist of key individuals with various backgrounds and opinions on the subject, including:

  • Richard Blyth, RTPI Head of Policy Practice & Research;
  • Michael Crofton-Briggs, Head of City Development at Oxford City Council;
  • Professor Danny Dorling from the School of Geography and the Environment; and
  • James Stevens from the House Builders Federation.
