The increase in housing prices in certain regions of the UK (notably London) has led to large value mortgages and a disparity between housing supply and demand. This conference considers government schemes, the ‘right to buy / help to buy’ initiative and the role of planning to find more local solutions to the housing problem. The Impact of the welfare reform will also be considered.
