PIPA Conference

Annual Conference of PIPA - the Politicians in Planning Network

Saturday, 18 October 2014 at 10:00AM - 4:15PM
Stamford Court, University of Leicester,
Politicians in Planning Network (PIPA)

The RTPI Politicians in Planning Network – PIPA – Conference is exclusively for Councillors responsible for local planning. Places are offered free of charge thanks to support from the Planning Advisory Service (PAS).

Identifying the ‘public interest’ that our planning system is designed to uphold is rarely straightforward.  Finding a proper balance between competing or even complementary interests is a challenging task. Our 2014 Conference will explore some of the issues through its popular mix of plenary and breakout sessions. There will be an exceptional range of contributors in this Centenary year for the Institute.

There will also be a special exhibition of the 21st Century Garden Cities entries for the Wolfson Economics Prize.

The PIPA Conference allows you to

  • Expand and refresh  your planning knowledge
  • Share experience with planners and fellow Councillors
  • Look at  some important topics in greater depth

The University venue is readily accessible by rail (a bus connection will be available) or road.

Our grateful thanks to the Planning Advisory Service (PAS), the Conference sponsor.
