Local Housing - off-site construction

An opportunity to see how off-site construction is achieved

Date:
Wednesday, 01 October 2014 at 2:00PM - 4:00PM
Venue:
Walsall, West Midlands
Organiser:

This is an opportunity for a strictly limited number of Network members to visit the Accord Group 'Homes Factory' in Walsall and to have their questions answered.

Inside Housing has reported: "Double the proportion of homes will be built offsite under the next round of the affordable homes programme, as the Government seeks to avoid delivery problems experienced under the current programme.

Under the Homes and Communities Agency’s (HCA) 2015-18 programme, 20% of the homes will be built in factories before being assembled onsite after £900m of the £1.7bn was allocated. This compares with 10% under the 2011-15 programme.

Providers faced difficulties hitting deadlines under the 2011-15 programme, after a slow start preceded periods of extreme bad weather and the cost of building materials such as bricks soared".

So join this visit to see and hear how Accord has been achieving its off-site housing construction and learn what is involved. Early booking is essential to avoid disappointment
