Brixton Green, a non-profit, registered mutual society, has been set up by Brixton people to achieve the community-led redevelopment of part of Somerleyton Road, an important site at the heart of Brixton.

This event will look at the current ambitions for the redevelopment but also consider whether and how this model might be more widely used and deliver more & sustainable housing where it is needed.

The visit and discussion will be led by Carolyn Tobin from the GLA who is researching for an MSc at Cardiff University. Her study topic is whether Community Land Trusts (CLT) and community land ownership could provide additional affordable homes in London. The event will draw from and contribute to her studies.

Places are limited so early booking is advised.
