RTPI Scotland

This is a joint event with RTPI West of Scotland Chapter and RTPI Urban Design Network.

Polnoon Site Visit:

Join us for a guided site visit to Polnoon led by Susie Stirling of the Scottish Government's Architecture and Place Division.

The housing development at Polnoon is a Scottish Government project which was created to champion good design. The aim was to take the Government's design advice, and turn theory into reality, with the long term ambition of building a Conservation Area of Tomorrow. At the heart of the vision for Polnoon, has been to design a safe place where pedestrians will have priority over cars allowing for the creation of an attractive streetscape to be enjoyed by everyone. Built by McTaggart and Mickel, the award winning development has now seen the first phase of its masterplan complete and the site visit will allow us to see the successful implementation of design policy on the ground.
