RTPI-CIH Planning for Housing Network

This half-day Conference from the RTPI-CIH Planning for Housing Network looks at housing delivery, an issue that seems set to be a major topic in the run up to the 2015 General Election. As is the case with all Network events, there will be plenty of time for questions and debate.

The draft Agenda for this event (subject to change) is as follows:

1.30 - Sustainable housing growth, learning from Wichelstowe - Deborah Heenan & Richard Bell, Swindon BC

2.00 – Strategic Planning & housing – recent RTPI policy papers
Joe Kilroy,Policy Officer for the RTPI, will use recent Policy Papers  to outline the RTPI position on housing delivery.

2.30 – Delivering surplus public sector land – Deborah Heenan, Chief
Executive, Forward Swindon Ltd

3.00 – refreshment break

3.15 – S106 research – Sue Brownill from Oxford Brookes University who led the research for JRF, will outline the findings and explore the issues arising.

3.45 – The Lyons Review – Malcolm Sharp, who was one of the Lyons Review Commissioners, will outline the Report's recommendations and will be able to explain the thinking behind them.
