Protecting and Enhancing Our Built Heritage

With all of the changes happening in our built environment it is vital to look at how we can use innovative approaches to protect and enhance our built heritage. This event will look at some of the conservation initiatives and recent projects underway in the Highlands and Islands and examine the tools and different approaches used to protect these assets.

Speakers include:

  • Una Lee, Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) Officer for Dingwall
  • Miriam Frier, CARS/Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI) Officer for Kirkwall (video link)
  • Kerry Bennett, Conservation Officer, The Highland Council
  • Ian Fraser, Architect with LDN Architects
