The PIPA Conference is free-to-attend for planning Councillors and the 2013 event will feature a keynote speech by Planning Minister Nick Boles MP. The Conference theme will be 'Planning that meets the needs of current and future generations' and it offers both plenary and break-out sessions, including an afternoon stream specially helpful for Councillors that are new to planning. All English local authorities and parish/town councils are encouraged to send delegates to keep abreast of changing planning and best practice.

The venue for the 2013 Conference is the Milton Keynes Conference centre. From its establishment in 1967, Milton Keynes was planned as by far the largest and most ambitious of the British new towns; indeed the objective has been to build a new city. The development was deliberately located (roughly) equidistant from London, Birmingham, Leicester, Oxford and Cambridge - and hence it offers a very accessible Conference venue.
