1 Colmore Square, Birmingham, West Midlands B4 6AA
This free, evening seminar will help local decision-makers with the task of developing integrated strategies and policies, and will draw on European case studies and research to offer recommendations for how to achieve this.
Planning requires the ability to operate in an integrative manner across spatial scales, sectors and agencies. This can often be difficult for Local Authorities and LEPs to manage.
One European (ESPON) research project, called RISE, was carried out on behalf of Birmingham City Council and looked at good practice in strategy development. It created a toolkit for decision-makers which suggests a range of models, questions and recommendations which can be used as inspiration in the strategy-making process. This toolkit, as well as findings from other research projects, will be explained in the context of creating integrated strategies across the West Midlands.
