When is fracking not fracking?
The challenges of coal bed methane extraction

This seminar will highlight the key planning and environmental issues and regulatory framework associated with coal bed methane (CBM) extraction, and the increasing confusion with shale gas fracking developments.

RPS has considerable experience in the assessment of the environmental effects of CBM and of progressing applications for the various stages of CBM development through the planning system.

Join us for a discussion on the challenges facing planners and environmental specialists in seeking permission for CBM in Scotland and how that challenge has been altered by increasing opposition and confision with shale gas fracking.

SPEAKERS:

  • Alan Pollock - Planning Director, RPS
  • Katharine Blythe - Senior Environmental Consultatn, RPS
