The Resilience and Brilliance of Place
An agenda for growth is putting increasing pressure on the sustainability of place. Planners are faced with the unenviable task of how to resolve potentially competing demands for land against the social, economic and environmental well being of communities. Successful places provide for a good quality of life; the NPPF advocates a Garden City approach to large scale growth extensions but what of regeneration? This seminar will explore the contribution of urban design to creating and shaping resilient and sustainable communities.
