Heritage and the NPPF - enhancing the historic environment in a pro-development world

This event will explore the impact, if any, of the NPPF on heritage. Policy discussion will focus on the nuances of the NPPF heritage policy and the impact that other policies might be having. Is heritage now at the bottom of the pile in this pro-development and recession impacted era? Case studies will be used locally and nationally to explore this question and understand mechanisms for protecting and enhancing heritage, such as Heritage Partnership Agreements. The wider issue of whether heritage is perceived as a barrier to development will also be explored. Speakers will include policy experts, public bodies, developers and consultants.
