We will hear:

• A local authority view on the development management process, e.g. ensuring validation is correct, how effective the pre-application process is, issues around viability and not complying with policy.
• A consultant's view on their main issues in using the process.
• A legal view on how to ensure that section 106 heads of terms and conditions are effective.
• The 2012 RTPI East of England Regional Planning Achievement Award will be presented to the winning entry from RSPB and Essex County Council and the winners will discuss how the development management process worked on their award-winning project.
