In recent years much evidence has accumulated which shows how important the physical, social and economic environments are to our health both in terms of access to health provision and the very quality and design of places.

Public Health and Town Planning have common roots - both grew from concerns about the poor and unhealthy conditions in the expanding industrial cities of the nineteenth century.

The purpose of this seminar is to explore the relationships that exist between health and planning and propose ways in which we can improve those relationships.
