High streets and town centres, a visible indicator of local prosperity, face serious challenges from the impact of the recession, out-of-town developments and the internet. Following recommendations from the Portas Review the government expects new visions which address the decline of the high street. This event will explore planning's role in supporting and achieving diverse and healthy town centres.

This conference is being organised by Sheffield Hallam University on behalf of the RTPI Yorkshire Conference Series.

Concessions and free student places available.

Booking for this conference closes at 5pm on Thursday 4 July 2013.
