RTPI Cymru North Wales Chapter: Planning and the Economy

This North Wales Chapter event will discuss how the planning system affects two crucial areas of the local and national economy – housebuilders and small businesses. This is a very timely event given the statements made by the Minister earlier this year and at the Wales Planning Conference regarding Planning and the Economy with revisions to Planning Policy Wales expected early next year.

Mark Waite of Bloor Homes will speak and introduce Simon Coop of Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners. NLP are engaged on a major piece of work on behalf of housebuilders looking at the economic benefits of building new houses to local economies as a whole, considering business generated for tradesmen and suppliers as well as the developers.

Mike Learmond, of the Federation of Small Businesses will talk about the impact of the planning system on small businesses.

Dave Heggarty of Flintshire will talk about the relationship between Economic Development, Planning Policy, Development Management and Regeneration.

Bydd digwyddiad Cell Gogledd Cymru ar 19 Medi yn trafod sut bydd y system Cynllunio yn effeithio dwy ran holl bwysig yr economi lleol a chenedlaethol – adeiladwyr tai a busenesau bach. Bydd y digwyddiad yn amserol iawn wrth ystyried datganiadau oddiwrth y Gweinidog yn gynharach eleni ac o flaen Cynhadledd Cynllunio Cymru ynglyn â Chynllunio a'r Economi, a'r newidiadau i Bolisi Cynllunio Cymru a ddisgwylir yn gynnar y flwyddyn nesaf. 

Bydd Mark Waite, Bloor Homes, yn siarad ac yn cyflwyno Simon Coop, Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners.  Mae NLP yn paratoi darn o waith sylweddol ar ran adeiladwyr tai yn edrych ar les economaidd adeiladau tai newydd i economïau lleol yn eu cyfanrwydd, yn ystyried busnes a gynhyrchir ar gyfer crefftwyr a chyflenwyr yn ogystal â datblygwyr.

Bydd Mike Learmond, Ffederasiwn Busnesau Bach, yn siarad ar effaith y system cynllunio ar fusnesau bach.

Bydd Dave Heggarty, Cyngor Sir Fflint, yn siarad ar berthynas rhwng Ddatblygu Economaidd, Polisi Cynllunio, Rheolaeth Datblygu ac Adfwyiad.
