South Acton is Ealing Council's largest estate. In 1999, following consultation with the community, the Council started a major investment programme on the estate.
To date the Council has:
- demolished seven blocks enabling the redevelopment of 346 homes for rent and shared ownership
- improved six blocks
- developed the new Oaktree Community Centre
Due to the scale and complexity of the work it is likely that full regeneration of the estate will take around ten years to be completed.
The event will be led by:
David Colley, Regeneration Manager, London Borough of Ealing
and Janet Payne, Regeneration Manager, Catalyst Housing Group.
Catalyst have undertaken the first phases of regeneration with Willmott Dixon. L & Q are doing the next phases with Countryside.
