River Basin Planning is system that promotes sustainable water use in a way which protects and improves the water environment.

In 2009 the first of the River Basin Management Plans were produced in Scotland and the time has now come to review these and work has already started on the second round of River Basin Management Plans.

This event is intended to give all those involved in preparing development plans a basic introduction to river basin management planning and how the river basin management plans should be taken into consideration in preparing your development plan and the implications of the river basin management plans for the final content of your Local Development Plan. A light lunch will be available on arrival.

Please let us know if you would like to attend by Monday 17th October 2012 by e-mailing Lynn.Clarke@highland.gov.uk or phoning 01463 702291. When responding please let us know if you would be willing to car share and where you will be starting your journey from. If you are willing to car share, we will circulate your e-mail address to registered participants.

Video conferencing facilities will be available.
