Most entries have now been passed down to the RTPI Regions who will now be running their own awards schemes. This is with the exception of Northern Ireland, Scotland and London who have their own awards schemes.
A database giving details of the 63 winners and commended entries from the last three years - 2007, 2008 and 2009, provide examples of the very best in town planning practice.
The Royal Town Planning Institute established its awards for Planning Achievement in 1977. The purpose was twofold: to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Queen's accession to the throne; and to throw a public spotlight on the positive achievements of the planning profession. The premier award is the Silver Jubilee Cup which is held by the winning group for one year. These awards are run in association with Planning.
