Learning Partner Profile - ELG Planning

ELG Planning (formerly England & Lyle) was established as a partnership between John England and Ian Lyle in December 1995 and has been trading as a Limited Company since July 2008.

We offer a full range of town planning and development services including assistance with planning applications and appeals/inquiries/hearings, enforcement, lawful development certificates, development plan representations, preparation of development briefs, sustainability appraisals, design statements, master plans, community involvement exercises and regeneration studies.

We also offer assistance in specialist areas, in particular: retail and leisure planning and impact assessment, economic impact advice, listed buildings and conservation areas and urban design. We have assisted local authorities with development management functionsand providing specific development control/planning expertise and often work as part of multi-disciplinary teams alongside solicitors, architects, landscape architects, ecologists, engineers, archaeologists and other professions involved in the built environment.

During the past 10 years ELG Planning have employed six graduates who have all progressed through the company's programme to become fully accredited members of the RTPI. We currently have a further two graduates working towards the same goal. We have also taken on staff for work experience on several occaisions.
